US

Us is built upon the idea of which we consider plants as social participants. Our lack of ability to metaphysically bond with other species who don’t share our languages or senses drives us to degrade plants as decorations or mere objects, despite these plants played and always will play an irreplaceable, often interactive role in our lives. That’s why we pick the succulent: namely the most easy-to-take-care-of plant, aka the most ignorable plant, as our participant.

Collaborated with Yuxuan Qi & Yingyi Lei.

Visuals and sound are made in TouchDesigner, interaction is made in Arduino.
